Police take Indrani to Worli home to recreate crime scene

A day before her police custody ends, investigators took former INX media CEO Indrani Mukerjea to her Worli residence where they reconstructed the scene of crime on Sunday. Indrani is the main accused in the murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora and has been arrested along with her former husband, Sanjeev Khanna, and driver, Shyamvar Rai.

A day before her police custody ends, investigators took former INX media CEO Indrani Mukerjea to her Worli residence where they reconstructed the scene of crime on Sunday. Indrani is the main accused in the murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora and has been arrested along with her former husband, Sanjeev Khanna, and driver, Shyamvar Rai.

Police sources said Indrani showed them how she, Khanna and Rai came to the house on the night of April 24, 2012, after they had killed Sheena in a Bandra by-lane and the parked the car in the garage with her body in it.

Sources close to the investigation said the police wanted to verify things that would be of evidential value in the Worli house, where Indrani stayed with her husband, former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea.

“We wanted clarity on the investigations on the sequence of events, how the accused came to the residence after the murder, the position of each accused. Also what they did the next day on April 25, 2012, while taking Sheena’s body for disposal. Where the make-up and combing of hair was done in the car needed to be ascertained,” the source added.
