Pradnya Saravade, Ananta Barua take charge as EDs, SEBI

The Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi), today said that Dr Pradnya Saravade and Ananta Barua have taken charge as its Executive Directors.

The Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi), today said that Dr Pradnya Saravade and Ananta Barua have taken charge as its Executive Directors today.

Dr Saravade is from the 1989 batch of the Indian Police Service and has served in the states of West Bengal and Maharashtra and the Central Bureau of Investigation.

She has been on deputation with SEBI since July 2008 and has been holding charge of the Investigations Department in SEBI.

In her new post, she will continue to head the Investigations Department, a press release issued here said.

Barua, prior to this assignment, was Legal Adviser, Legal Affairs Department (LAD), SEBI, and has been working in this Department since 1992.

He has assisted the Board in the framing of regulations, the release said.

Barua was on deputation to the Central Bank of Bahrain as Legal Adviser and has also worked with the Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI), National Fertilisers Ltd
(NFL) and DCM Ltd.

Barua was also active in various committees including as Technical Member of the Committee on Financial Sector Assessment and Justice Wadhwa Committee on re-allocation of IPO proceeds, among others.
