“Rane has violated principle of 'office of profit' by giving the land reserved for treatment and rehabilitation of mentally-ill patients in Pune to his relatives and therefore he should not be included in the cabinet," Sena spokesperson Nilam Gorhe said.

Gorhe met Governor K Sankaranarayanan complaining the violation and requested him to take action against Rane.

In 2009, about five acres of land, in possession of Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health in Yerwada, Pune, was given to a trust Dyaneshwari Shikshan Santha, run by Rane's distant relative Dinkar Khanvilkar, cousin Satish Nare and late mother-in-law, Shobhana Vichare, Gorhe alleged.

“Ignoring the need of mentally-ill patients, the land of Rs 20 crore was given to the relatives,” added Gorhe.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had to step down for misusing his powers for personal gains in Adarsh society scam and Rane has also done the same thing, Gorhe said.
