Reluctant to call it a green budget, municipal commissioner RA Rajeev is planning to have 200 acres of green cover in the city within five years.
“We have developed an 80-metre green patch between the service road and main road at Teen Hath Naka, which is for the pedestrians and cyclists. More such footpaths will be developed,” said Rajeev.
Thane legislators have agreed to contribute Rs 25 lakh from the MLA’s fund for it.
