WR recovers R6 crore from trespassers on tracks

The Western Railway (WR) has recovered Rs 6.6 crore after catching 1.66 lakh people trespassing on tracks.

Similarly, 785 cases of illegal transfer of reserved tickets were detected and an amount of Rs 5.9 lakh was realised.

Also 1,038 beggars and unauthorized hawkers were apprehended, out of which 732 were evicted from railway premises 90 were charged and an amount of Rs 24,980 was realised as railway dues.

WR also prosecuted 216 people, jailed 22 of them and Rs 39,650 was collected as fine. WR also caught 297 of youth (above 12 years) travelling in ladies compartment.
