“I am personally looking into the issue of load shedding which the entire state is facing. I am ensuring that the government takes fast steps to bring relief,” said Dange, on his first day in office on Tuesday.

Dange has also decided to fix the time for clearing files and a ‘vision document’ to be set up by each department.

“We will be fixing time period, ranging from 45 to 90 days, for different types of files to move out from a department,” he said.

He also expressed interest in seeing that helipads and heliports come up soon in the city for better security.

“There are six helipads that have been proposed, which can be used for emergency purposes. We are formulating a policy on this,” Dange said.

He also attended a meeting on the redevelopment on Dadar Chaityabhoomi, where Dalit leader Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was cremated.

“Phase-I of the Rs 21.5-crore plan is done. We had a meeting with the Boudh Mahasabha which has shown interest in completing the rest. We are considering the proposal,” Dange added.
