Before he heads to the Bengaluru edition of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, British musician Fin Greenall, better known as Fink, will make a quick stopover in the city. He will perform at the Liberty Cinema, the famous art deco venue that has also been hosting many gigs lately.

Recently, the singer-songwriter even collaborated with Bollywood composer duo Salim-Sulaiman, and singer Shafqat Amanat Ali for the TV music series The Dewarists. Together, the musicians produced a song called, Let go. “To bring together Salim-Sulaiman with Fink was a really bizarre combination, but that was the challenge. They (Salim-Sulaiman) are great producers, with an amazing studio. We were writing in different languages from different perspectives and it was really fascinating,” says Fink. “Shafqat, well, he’s a legend. To work with him, and have him do his thing as a singer, I definitely felt a little star-struck, because that guy really can sing”.

Fink also recently released his debut live album, Wheels Turn Beneath My Feet, which was recorded during his many concerts this year. The process, he says was very satisfying. “Yeah, it’s actually as creative as you want it to be. You can just record a concert, or you can really get into it, and we wanted to capture what it felt like be on tour. We might record some of the India gigs as well, and put them out for our fans.”

Fink’s act will be supported by acoustic folk-rock trio The Staves that comprises sisters Emily, Jessica and Camilla Staveley. The band, which released their debut album, Dead & Born & Grown last month, are known for their distinctive three-part vocal harmonies. “One of us has been to India before but we’ve never performed here. So it’s exciting to come here. I’m really looking forward to eating Indian food. We love the cuisine back home but would like to try the real deal here!” says Jessica.
