BA student Vikas Kumar had allegedly ragged his junior Ashutosh Kumar Ranjan Monday. After the incident came to light, college principal LKP Singh had ordered the anti-ragging committee to hold an inquiry and submit a report within two days.

"The committee began its probe into the incident today," a college official said.

Patna Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheila Irani said Kumar was arrested from Minto Hostel in the college premises after Ranjan filed a complaint.

Ranjan told the police that he was assaulted after he refused to obey an order by Kumar and his friends to strip and perform a funny act.

SA Hashmi, officer in-charge of Pirbahore police station, said a case had been registered against Kumar and four other students.

Patna University proctor Ras Bihari Prasad Singh has also sought a report from the college regarding the alleged incident of ragging.
