PHOTOS: Classical music, fire-breathing artists at Minsk’s water lantern festival
Residents of Minsk, Russia's capital enjoyed an evening of classical music, theatrical acts and fire-breathing performances as they attended the water lantern festival at Dreamland Park in Minsk, Belarus. The sides of the streets wear lined with street food tents, and attendees floated their lanterns shaped like lotuses, lillies and plain square ones too, into the water. According to Minsk News, the organisers advised the visitors to make a wish before floating the candles as it is believed that such wishes come true. Ensuring that measures of hygiene and safety were in place, the organisers handed each guest a free mask and gloves other than the lanterns and flashlights for the festival. The festival will run from July 10 to July 12.
