Rani Mukerji, who was last seen on the big screen in Bombay Talkies this year, will be playing a crime branch officer in her next, Mardaani. Recently, Rani even met Mumbai Police Crime Branch chief Himanshu Roy to understand the nitty-gritty of an officer’s job profile, body language and lifestyle. “Rani wants to understand how a crime branch officer functions for her role,” Roy was quoted as saying.

She is just a film old but young model-turned-actor Amyra Dastur will be donning the uniform for filmmaker Vikram Bhatt’s Mr X. The 20-year-old Parsi girl, who was recently seen in Issaq, will now be seen opposite Emraan Hashmi. Confirming the same, Amyra was quoted as saying, “In the film, I will be playing Emraan’s lady love. My role will be that of a tough cop.”

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, is essaying the character of ACP Jai Dixit for the third time in the third installment of Dhoom franchise. He says, “I find it very challenging to re-invent this character every time so that people don’t find it repetitive and boring. I want to make Jai as interesting as possible and that’s challenging, but it interests me a lot.”

It is a tongue-in-cheek comedy but my character, Shantipriya Phadnis, takes her job very seriously. She is hardworking and dedicated to fighting crime. I loved the scenes where I get to beat up the gundas with my bare hands.”

Interestingly, his character is based on a real life encounter specialist who rose to notorious heights in the 90’s.
