Photos: Bengaluru struggles to check rising Covid-19 spike

Bengaluru is struggling to check the increase in Covid-19 cases after an initial success in curbing the coronavirus disease. On June 6, Bengaluru accounted for a mere 5% of the total cases in Karnataka. On July 5, the city’s tally of active cases was 8,167, accounting for over 60% of cases under treatment in the state. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on July 6 appealed to the people not to leave Bengaluru and assured them of all necessary arrangements needed to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
