Photos: One month of the iconic farmers’ protest at Singhu

On November 27, a farmers’ agitation against three new agriculture reform laws came knocking on Delhi’s doors from Punjab and Haryana as farmers responded to the “Delhi Chalo” call. A month since, the agitation has swelled into a tent city at Singhu- a border area between Delhi and Haryana, and smaller demonstrations at the national capital’s Tikri, Chilla and Ghazipur border points. Of these, the Singhu border protest site remains the nerve centre of the agitation and decision making regarding negotiations with the government. HT photographers documented the emergence of this parallel city at Delhi’s border, fuelled by determined demonstrators.
