Ganesh Chaturthi 2022: Facts about Mumbai's 14-feet-tall Lalbaugcha Raja

The 10-day-long festival of Ganesh Chaturthi began on August 31 across the country. It is celebrated every year on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month Bhadrapada. Out of the several Mandals in Maharashtra, the Lalbaugcha Raja gets special attention due to its unique idol of Lord Ganesha.

For the first time since 1934, Lalbaugcha Raja has to call off the grand festivities in 2020 due to Covid-19. After a gap of two years, the Mandal has reopened for devotees to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha again. (ANI)
