How India welcomed 2023: In photos

People across India welcomed the New Year amid huge celebrations. Many cities held special events in the midst of heavy security presence. People flocked to popular destinations to join the revelry in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other big cities. Celebrations were held without tight Covid-19 restrictions for the first time in two years. However, amid fresh surge in China and other nations, authorities have renewed the fight the virus yet again.
