Photos: US sets new record with over 225,000 Covid-19 cases in one day

The Unites States’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended "universal face mask use" indoors and president elect Joe Biden said he would scale down his January inauguration ceremony to mitigate the virus risk as coronavirus cases set a single-day record exceeding 225,000 on December 4. The surge in cases is feared to worsen after millions of Americans travelled across the country over the recent Thanksgiving holidays. The United States clocked a record number of Covid-19 cases for a second day in a row, with the country preparing for what Biden has called a dark winter.
