14-year-old raped to silence about extra-marital affair in Pune, 4 persons arrested

A 14-year-old from Chinchwad was raped multiple times by a man identified as Prakash Madhukar Rajguru, to help his friends Mandakini Shirsath and Vijay Katare, conceal their extra-marital affair.
The teenager knew about the affair and the couple wanted to ensure that she does not reveal their secret to the people in society, according to the complaint. Therefore, the couple got their friend to rape the minor, the complaint stated.
The police arrested four persons, including a woman, in the case. The four were identified as Vijay Govardhan Katare, Prakash Madhukar Rajguru, Akshay Motiram Shirsath and Mandakini Avinash Shirsath, for planning and executing the crime.
A local court sent the four accused to four days of police custody remand (PCR) on Thursday.
A case was registered at the Chinchwad police station against the four under section 376 (for rape), 376(i)(n), 120(b) (for criminal conspiracy), 504 (insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (people working in furtherance of common intent) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 3, 4 of prevention of children against sexual offence (POCSO). Woman police sub-inspector (PSI) RJ Dhere is the investigating officer is the case.
Mandakini allegedly tricked the girl into going with her under the pretext of bank work and took her near the bushes along the highway in Kalbhornagar on March 18 this year, according to the complaint.
According to the police, Prakash Rajguru raped the teenager and she was forced to click pictures with him which was later used to blackmail her.
According to the complaint, Prakash forcefully had sexual intercourse with the teenager multiple times in different places, including Mandakini’s house, after the incident.
The incident came to light after the 14-year-old revealed the incident to her mother and sister who then filed a complaint at the Chinchwad police station.
The teen and the four arrested people are all residents of the same area in Chinchwad.
