Traffic near Nal Stop on Karve Road came to a standstill on Friday evening after an African national became violent and created ruckus by stripping in public. People were left confused and traffic came to a halt as the foreigner ran amock on the road. Some passers-by said that he even climbed on top of four wheelers parked by the roadside.

In a bid to control him, people covered the naked man with a loin cloth and tied him to a pillar. Eye-witnesses said he was disoriented and appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

“The foreigner had turned violent which scared people who contacted us for help. When we went to the spot we saw that people had tied him to a nearby pillar to bring him under control,” PSI Nevase said while speaking to Hindustan Times. Whisked away to Sassoon General Hospital, police said the identity of the person was being ascertained as he was without his passport or documents.
