Three dead bodies fished out from Pune’s Vaiduwadi canal within a week

Fire brigade officials had recovered two bodies - male and female, from the spot on Wednesday, while the third body of a 40-year-old was recovered on Friday morning. However, the body of a young boy who accidentally fell into the canal at Vaiduwadi at the same spot on Tuesday is yet to be found.

Fire brigade officials from the city have recovered three unidentified bodies from Vaiduwadi canal in Hadapsar in less than a week. Fire brigade officials had recovered two bodies - male and female, from the spot on Wednesday, while the third body of a 40-year-old was recovered on Friday morning. However, the body of a young boy who accidentally fell into the canal at Vaiduwadi at the same spot on Tuesday is yet to be found.

A missing complaint in connection with the incident has been registered with the Hadapsar police.

Kondhwa Khurd fire brigade officials found the floating body in the irrigation canal behind Hadapsar traffic divisional office around 7.30am on Friday. Prashant Ranpise, chief fire officer, Pune fire brigade, said that the body was handed over to the police after it was recovered by the firepersons.

The fire department officials said that the bodies were floating on the canal. People passing through the area saw the bodies which led to a huge crowd gathering around the spot. Onlookers called up the police control room and the fire brigade.
