A police party that on Sunday evening reached the site of an accident between a private bus and a truck, was accused of stealing fuel from the truck.

Sources said the police team, comprising eight policemen, led by Faridkot city SHO Narinder Singh reached the site. While some of them got busy in helping the injured and restoring traffic, a few of them got a can filled from the fuel tank of the truck.
Sources said even some people filled up two cans of the fuel from the tank of the truck with the help of a pipe and put them into the official vehicle of the city police SHO.
Truck driver Karaj Singh was injured in the accident and was rushed to the medical college at Faridkot after the accident that took place on Sunday evening on the Kotkapura-Faridkot road. Seven people were injured in the accident.
SHO city Narinder Singh was not available for comment.
SSP Gurmeet Singh Randhawa said, "Police officials have told me that the tank of the truck got damaged and the police tried to empty the tank so that it did not catch fire. The fuel is in the possession of the police and it was done keeping in view the safety angle. However, I will verify it."
