The police have got the girl medically examined. "The report is awaited," said SHO inspector Dinesh Singh. He said that during investigations it came to the fore that the accused was known to the family of the victim as they had once shared an accommodation.

The SHO said the accused had asked the father of the victim, a shopkeeper, to collect some eatables from his house. "As the mother of the girl was not at home at that time, he sent his daughter to the accused to collect the eatables," he said. When the victim's mother returned home and learnt that her daughter had gone to the house of the accused, she went there and found him sexually abusing her daughter.
