As many as 200 torn pages of Gutkha Sahib (small scriptures of Gurbani) were found torn on a street to the cremation ground of the village. The incident has again hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community, which had earlier led massive protest after 21 pages of the Guru Granth Sahib were found torn inside a gurdwara in Baath village on October 16.

Tarn Taran deputy commissioner Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, SP (D) Jagmohan Singh and other senior officials reached the spot.

Meanwhile, Sikh bodies blocked the Tarn Taran-Jandiala Guru road as they staged a dharna making the situation tense.
