Superstar Mahesh Babu is desperate for a hit. Four out of his last five films (1-Nenokkadine, Aagadu, Srimanthudu, Brahmotsavam and Spyder) have bombed at the box-office and the trade is worried about his form.
Currently shooting for Koratala Siva’s Bharath Ane Nenu, Mahesh is under tremendous pressure to deliver and he has pinned all hopes on his next two projects which also include a yet-untitled project with director Vamshi Paidipally. On Monday, rumours did the rounds that Mahesh has a film planned with director Boyapati Srinu, known for delivering blockbusters such as Simhaa and Sarainodu. If the grapevine is anything to go by, this project might take towards the end of next year.
“Mahesh has an obligation to work with the producers 14 Reels Entertainment and they’re keen to rope in Boyapati for the project as he understands the pulse of the masses like no other contemporary director in Telugu filmdom. The project is still in discussion stage and it might take a few months for it to get even sanctioned. Mahesh, in the interim, will finish his current commitments and only then will this project take off, provided everything falls in place,” a source told HT.
In Bharath Ane Nenu, Mahesh plays a chief minister and director Koratala Siva, who gave Mahesh his last blockbuster in the form of Srimanthudu, is hopeful of repeating success with this project. In Vamsi’s film, Mahesh’s character is kept a secret. However, we have learnt that most of the film will be predominantly shot in the US. The principal shooting will commence from early next year.
