While Ashutosh has helmed Hindi movies like Lagaan, Swades and Jodhaa Akbar, he has only acted in Marathi cult movies including Sarkarnama, Vazir and Ek Ratra Mantarleli.

Ashutosh was speaking on the occasion of music launch of Marathi movie Sumbaran directed by Gajindre Ahire. The movie would be premiered in the ensuing International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa.

Sumbaran, a musical, would be Ahire's fourth film to be screened at Goa. Earlier, his Not Only Mrs Raut, Bayo and Shevri were shown at the prestigious film festival.

Ashutosh also recalled his long association with the movie's music director Rahul Ranade. "My association with Rahul goes back to 1984 when we both had worked in Holi. It was because of him and the way the movie has shaped up, that I was compelled to come for this music launch," Ashutosh said.

Sumbaran is a romantic love story of a village left behind starring popular Marathi actors including Jitendra Joshi, Makrand Anaspure.
