Mahesh Babu, Murugadoss to work together next year

Mahesh Babu and AR Murugadoss, who have been wanting to working with each other, will soon be coming together in Telugu/Tamil bilingual. The cinematography will be handled by Santosh Sivan.

Three heavyweights AR Murugadoss, Mahesh Babu and Santosh Sivan will soon be coming together for a new project. Work on Murugadoss’s highly anticipated Telugu film will begin from 2016. Santosh Sivan will handle the cinematography for the film, he said on Thursday. “Looking forward to doing the film with Murugadoss, Mahesh Babu next year,” said Santosh posted on his Twitter page.

This project will mark Murugadoss’s return to Telugu industry after a decade. Composer Harris Jayaraj has already been confirmed to compose the tunes. It’s also rumoured that the film will be simultaneously shot in Tamil with actor Vijay, who has already worked with Murugadoss twice.

Murugadoss is currently busy wrapping up his Hindi project Akira with Sonakshi Sinha.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that upcoming Tamil revenge thriller 24 was first offered to Mahesh Babu. An informed source told the media that the Telugu superstar turned it down citing some issues with the film’s script.

“Director Vikram Kumar had originally approached Mahesh with the script. He read it and really liked the first half. However, he was not happy with the second half and, hence, turned down the offer, which eventually was lapped up by Suriya,” said the source.

Tipped to be a tale with the concept of time-travel, Suriya essays triple role in the film.”Suriya will be playing an elder brother and younger brother. He will also be seen as the son of the elder brother,” the source said.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen play the female leads. The film has music by AR Rahman, and it’s slated for a summer 2016 release.
