Actor Umesh Kamat is enjoying the feedback that he is getting for his play, Don’t Worry Be Happy. He recently returned from his Istanbul trip and is now raring to get back to work. The Ye Re Ye Re Paisa actor feels fortunate about being able to balance his works in films, television and theatre. “I sometimes feel I should I have started giving time to all three mediums simultaneously a little earlier in life. There was a phase when I was only doing television, and there were two reasons for that — I had to earn money and the content coming my way was interesting,” says Umesh.

Now, the actor prioritises his choices and takes up things he only truly enjoys. He says, “I have mentioned this earlier too. I have to work to make money as this is my profession. However, a year ago Priya told me that now that she is also doing films, ads and so many things, and that I should relax and enjoy my work. This is what I had told her a few years ago. So, we have each other’s back and never pressurise each other.”

The Asehi Ekada Vhave actor adds that he is finally in a place where he doesn’t have to take up projects for the sake of it. “I am happy with theatre, and exploring films. I would like to credit my theatre producers Sonal Productions for this too, as they give us the liberty to experiment and explore with each play,” he says.
