39' AND IMMEDIATELY, DUTCH RESPOND! Dumfries darts into the penalty area and is cut back is cleared by the sliding right foot of Czech keeper Vaclic. Wow, this is end-to-end stuff.

37' HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN? CHANCE OF THE GAME! Barak hids his face in absolute shock and disappointment as he is denied agonizingly by De ligt. Soucek is fed by Masopust before feeding Barak. Who is near the right post and just has the keeper to beat from inside the box. De Ligt covers and puts in a block to deflect the ball over the goal for a corner. Barak delivers the ball but nothing comes off it.

35' Coufal is freed down the left and his falt cross to the far post, seeking Schick, is taken care of by De Ligt.

31' KALAS BLOCKS AGAIN!! Better from the Netherlands as a run off the ball by Wijnaldum creates the space for Dumfries and Malen to combine with the latter's shot deflected behind off Celustka. Depay's inswinger drifts wide of the centre and the ball is easily defended again. He gets another chance as pull back from the right by Malen is cleared behind by Kalas.

28' POUCHED! Schick finds space outside the box, he takes it to his preferred left foot on the right and looks to go for the far post, but the ball strikes De Roon and rebounds straight into Maarten Stekelenburg gloves.

22' JUST WIDE! First real chance created by Czechs and it was a good one. Blind fails to close in on Sevcik on the right and it allows the latter to drill in a low, quick cross. Soucek gets to the end of the pass with a diving header but he only manages it to angle it wide from across the face of the goal.

20' FOUL! Celustka mistimes his tackle on Malen. The freekick is cleared away for a corner at near post. However, nothing comes off it.

18' AGAIN, SO CLOSE! De Roon and Depay combine on the left before the ball is squared low and hard for Van Aanhold but Celustka makes an important clearance.

13' BLOCKED! OH, BOY! ELECTRIC START HERE FROM THE DUTCH. Their threat comes everywhere. Dumfries, carrying his good form into the game, collects the long ball from the back from Blind and bursts forward down the left. The ball bounces outside the box and Czech keeper Tomas Vaclik charges forward. But Dumfries heads the ball away, leaving the keeper in no man's land as soon as Dumfries brings it down and shoots towards an open goal, Kalas puts in a crucial sliding block to concede the corner. Nothing comes off it. Kalas with one of the blocks of the game so far

11' CORNER! Czech under pressure early on here after a bright start from the Dutch. Blind and Depay combine on the right and the ball is almost casually given away to Malen by Kalas. But the ball is cleared on time. The ensuing corner taken by Depay is poor, as it falls short and is cleared away.

8' CLOOOOOSEEE!!!! HOW CLOSE WAS THAT! Blind's fizzes the ball into the box from the left to the far post. De Ligt towers over his defender but only manages to head the ball back into the box. Depay fails to find the target on the rebound.

6' Lovely drop of the shoulder from Depay but Holes gets back to get a toe-poke on the ball.

2' OVER! On the other end, Tomas Holes finds some space and takes a shot from distance bu the ball flies into the stands.

1' CLOSE! Early forays into the Czech ball from the Dutch. From the right, Malen crosses in early, looking to pick out incoming Dumfries but the ball is a tad strong.

Here's a stat attack for you before the game begins:

1) This will be the first meeting between the Netherlands and Czech Republic since October 2015, when the Dutch were beaten 3-2 in a Euro 2016 qualifier. Indeed, they have lost each of their last two games against the Czech Republic- both coming in qualifying for the previous European Championships in 2016.

2) Czech Republic and the Netherlands will face each other at the European Championships for the third time (excl. Czechoslovakia meetings), with both sides winning one game apiece previously. Their last meeting in the competition was a thriller at Euro 2004, in which the Czech came from two goals down to win 3-2, following an 88th minute winner from Vladimir Smicer.

3) Since winning the tournament in 1988, the Dutch have progressed just two of their seven knockout stage games in the European Championship, beating Yugoslavia 6-1 in the 2000 quarterfinal and winning 5-3 on penalties against Sweden at the same stage in 2004.

4) Czech Republic have been eliminated in three of their last four games in the knockout stages of the European Championships- versus Germany in the final in 1996, Greece in the semi-final in 2004, and most recently, Portugal in the Euro 2012 quarters.

The Czech have suffered a mixed bag so far in this tournament and in their last six matches across all competitions, they have lost three of their last six matches, winning two and losing one.

The Dutch have won five of their last six games in all competitions. They are winless in this period as the sixth game ended in a draw.
