India Vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2022 Highlights: Pakistan hold India to dramatic 1-1 draw with late equaliser

Simranjeet Singh had a chance to give India the lead again dramatically in the last 10 seconds after he received the ball in the D but his shot went wide. Pakistan put up successive waves of attack in the dying minutes of the fourth quarter and the pressure finally gave them a goal. It had been a pretty equal match in the end with both teams having the same number of shots on goal (11) and circle penetrations (9). 

India made a referral against the goal but the umpire saw no dangerous play there. The goal stands. 

An equaliser with just over a minute left in the match. Pakistan finally convert a Penalty Corner and Abdul Rana is the man who gets on the scoresheet. 

A reverse shot from Pakistan forward and that is pawed away by Karkera. Pakistan now maintaining possession, which will certainly help as they search for an equaliser. 

Just over 6 minutes left to play and India have 57 percent of the ball possession. There have been a number of broadcast outages in this match. 

Card shown to Uttam Singh and that means India are a man down for two minutes of playing time. India had a similar situation towards the end of the third quarter with captain Birender Lakra sitting out. 

Some big chances there for Pakistan but they haven't been able to convert any of them. India have also been guilty of wasting chances they have got from penalty corners but they have done a good job of keeping Pakistan at bay. 

But both of them come to nothing in terms of goal. Selvam takes the drag flick on both occassions and while the first one got India another PC, the second went wide. 

Deflected ball in from the right and it comes to Ajaz Ahmed for an absolute sitter with every Indian shirt caught out. He goes for the empty far post and misses it. Head in hands moment for Pakistan. 

India are putting all kinds of pressure on Pakistan now. The ball finds its way into the Pakistan D leading to a flurry of chances for India. 

A pass from outside the D pierces through at least three Indian defenders. Abdul Rana collects it with just Suraj Karkera to beat but the Indian keeper manages to make the save. A shot comes in from the rebound but it goes wide.  

And Pakistan gets a PC straightaway! A takedown by Lakra deemed too dangerous by the umpire and he blows in Pakistan's favour. This time, they don't make any mistake with trapping the ball but the shot goes wide. 

There goes the half time hooter and India have successfully defended the lead they took in the first quarter. They have controlled the flow of the game while a volatile Pakistan have shown flashes of brilliance but they have also been undone by some extraordinary errors, particularly when trapping the ball for a drag flick during a PC.  

Umpire gives Pakistan a PC after a tackle from Vishnukant Singh. But another opportunity goes abegging as Ali Ghanzafar becomes the next played from the team to fumble the stop. 

Suraj Karkera with a big paw up to deflect a looping attempt away from the right. Abdul Rana then takes a shot and his deflected attempt is saved by Karkera.

Clever  variation on the PC as Dipsan Tirkey passes it to Sheshe Gowda but the latter's drag flick is palmed away by the Pakistan keeper Akmal Hussain. He has put up a good show in this second quarter. 

A lofted ball into the D is received well but Pakistan goalkeeper Akmal makes a good sace to keep his team's deficit down to a goal. 

Arfaz failes to put into the open goal. The ball comes to him at a height after the Indian keeper deflects a shot and he sends it over the goal. 

Some quick words spoken by both coaches and the teams make their way back. Pakistan with the pushback and they are off the blocks quickly. They get in the Indian third and make a chance but, as had been the case throughout the 1st quarter, there is no one to finish the move. 

Pakistan have made a lot of good progress in the Indian half but have no goals to show. India, on the other hand, will be looking to strengthen their defence, particularly down the flanks where Pakistan have sent in a lot of cut backs that have gone precariously across the face of the Indian goal. Ajaz Ahmad made one such run just before the hooter went up and sent a vicious one in from the right. Any sort of connection inside the D would have led to a goal for Pakistan.  

Captain Umar Bhutta trying to orchestrate a response but India have done well to not allow their opposition too much time on the ball. Pakistan have looked menacing so far but they have failed to give India a proper scare. 

It's a goal on debut for the 20-year-old as India finally convert a penalty corner. He didn't quite get a good grip on that drag flick but the Pakistan goalkeeper was caught out by a deflection that the ball took off the stick of Pakistan defender Muhammad Abdullah. India lead with just under 6 mins to go in the 1st quarter.  

Pakistan earned their second penalty corner which went awry after which India have responded by getting two back to back PCs themselves. 

India captain Lakra makes a mistake in stopping the ball as well in their PC routine and that leads to a counter attack with Pakistan having an advantage in the number of attackers they had versus the Indian defenders. India manage to defend well, however, and no goals conceded.  

Sunil brought down by Shakil a few metres into the Pakistan half of the pitch and that gets India a PC. It is sent just over the goal by Nilam Sanjeep Xess
