I’m not interested in films, says Ayesha Takia
Actor Ayesha Takia has bid adieu to films for good. So much so that the she doesn’t want filmmakers to even approach her. “I’m not interested in doing any more films.tabloid Updated: Dec 28, 2012 02:06 IST
“I’m not interested in doing any more films. There are times when I ask my mom to handle my phone and take the calls and tell producers, ‘don’t come (with offers)’. I don’t have any plans to do films,” said the 27-year-old, who was last seen in Mod in 2011.
Asked if her decision to back out of films is because of her married life with restaurateur Farhan Azmi, Takia said, “No. Not at all. I did Wanted after my marriage, so it’s not like I recently decided (to take a break from films). It was always my decision to give my personal life first priority. Then I have lots of businesses (restaurant chains and a hotel coming up in Goa) to look after and take care of. In fact my life has become more enjoyable and relaxed now. So I’m not really missing Bollywood.”
It’s not just Bollywood that actor Ayesha Takia has willingly bid farewell to, but, unlike others, she has also moved on from the shackles of fame. “Stardom is very fickle you know and films today just have a shelf life of a few days. It’s just the masala films that are really running now. I’m not interested in such stuff. I don’t have the patience or the energy for those,” she told us, adding, “Yes, if films like Dor are made then I’d like to think about it because those are films that will make a difference to me. But unfortunately such films are not being made.”
The writer’s trip was sponsored by the channel, Colors.
It was absolute fun. Hosting is something where I can really be myself.
