Telangana coal mine workers on strike against Centre’s move to privatise

The Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS), affiliated to ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the state, also lent support to the strike, but announced that it would take part in the agitation only for one day.

4 CITU workers held for blocking Nobel laureate Michael Levitt in Kerala

Levitt, who won the Nobel in 2013 in chemistry, was on a three-day visit as a state guest, when protesters blocked his houseboat on Wednesday, stranding him for almost two hours. The boat was allowed to leave only after boat operators alerted officials.

13 lakh commuters hit by bus workers’ strike in Haryana

Almost 4,000 buses remained off the roads in Haryana on Tuesday, leaving 13 lakh passengers in the lurch as Haryana Roadways workers, including drivers, conductors, mechanics and electricians, observed a one-day strike.
