Delhi: North corporation mayor to meet Hindu Rao doctors as their strike continues

Doctors from at least 12 government hospitals in Delhi have decided to either go on a two-hour pen-down strike to stop non-emergency work today or protest with a black ribbon in the hospitals treating Covid-19 patients

They said they have been on a partial strike because they don’t want patients to suffer, but if they are not paid their dues, they will be forced to go on a complete strike. They were last paid in June

North MCD doctors urge L-G to file FIR over unpaid salaries

In the letter addressed to LG Anil Baijal, the Municipal Corporation Doctors’ Association wrote, “MCDA requests your goodself to implement the order… by filing an FIR against the authorities responsible for non-payment of our salaries.”

Resident doctors of Hindu Rao threaten indefinite strike over pending salaries

The doctors, according to a letter submitted by the resident doctors’ association, said they will withdraw from all Covid-related services that they provide if their pending wage dues are not cleared in the next 48 hours.

Hindu Rao doctors strike work, surgeries postponed

The doctors were back to treating patients by 4pm after senior North Delhi Municipal Corporation officials visited them and assured them of a “safer work atmosphere”. But late in the night, they said the strike was on.

Doctors said their salary for the third month, from April 15 to May 15, is still pending, but the municipal corporation has promised to credit this within 48 hours.

Hindu Rao hospital faces another stir

The hospital is run by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation. The corporation said they are going through a financial crisis because of which, they are unable to pay their employees including teachers, engineers and nurses.
