Residents urge CIDCO to act against encroachment blocking access pathway
Residents of sectors 34C and 34B in Kharghar, Mumbai, have complained to CIDCO about an attempt to encroach on a public pathway. Four housing societies have written letters of concern to CIDCO, stating that the pathway, which has been accessible for decades, is now barricaded with tin sheets. The residents fear that this encroachment will lead to the loss of a convenient route to the Metro station and main road, and may result in over 500m detours for around 3,000 residents. If CIDCO fails to remove the encroachments, the residents are prepared to take legal action. CIDCO officials have not commented on the matter.
