Kirshan Kumar, station house officer of Punhana police station, said that the girl had told her parents on Monday that on July 30, one of the suspects, who is acquainted with the girl, kidnapped her and took her to an isolated spot.

Bibipur is less than a kilometre away from Ujina village that suffers from nearly half of Haryana’s malaria burden every year. In 2018, of 3,149 cases of malaria reported in the state, 1,968 cases were from Nuh district and 1,187 cases were reported in Ujina itself.

The three constituencies in Mewat have traditionally voted for regional parties such as the INLD, but shifted their allegiance to the Congress en bloc and helped the grand old party get a respectable total in the overall tally from Gurgaon.
In Bawal, 19 vote counting rounds will take place, followed by 18 in Rewari, Pataudi, and Firozpur Jhirka and 17 in Sohna. A minimum of 14 rounds will take place in Nuh constituency.(HTPhotos)

In the first case, presiding officer of Booth 116 Hare Ram Mandal filed a police complaint against polling agent, Wazid, 23, for “again and again, entering the polling booth and trying to influence voters to vote for a particular party”.

A police constable from Nuh was injured in alleged crossfire on late Monday night after five members of a gang, accused in several cases of ATM theft, robbery, cattle smuggling and carjacking, shot at some policemen stationed at a check post in Punahana area, said the police.
