Soonam Kapoor was born in Bombay, Maharashtra. She is the daughter of actor Anil Kapoor. She started off as an assistant director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, Black. She made her Bollywood debut with Saawariya in 2007. She has made a mark on the Bollywood industry with films like Raanjhanaa, I Hate Luv Storys, Sanju and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. She has also starred in women-led films like Veere Di Wedding, Neerja, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and The Zoya Factor and won several awards for it. She is married to Anand Ahuja.
