No action by MPCB over river pollution during Ganpati in Pune

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) is testing river water samples at 20 locations in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad to monitor water pollution during the Ganesh festival. The MPCB has recorded an increase in water pollution in rivers over the last four years but has not taken any action against local bodies. The main cause of water pollution is sewage water, and the local bodies have failed to present a solid action plan to address this issue.
