Game of Thrones fans have reacted to Brienne’s final scene in the series finale by creating hilarious memes. The scene shows teary eyed Brienne altering Jaime Lannister’s biography in The Book of Brothers, by writing down his recent accomplishments. Fans have taken the opportunity to rewrite certain sentences, and have shared humorous screenshots on Twitter.

Brienne, who was knighted by Jaime in episode two of the final season, and went on to develop a romantic relationship with him, wrote that he, “Took Riverrun from the Tully rebels, without loss of life. Lured the Unsullied into ruling Casterly Rock, sacrificing his childhood home in service for a greater strategy. Outwitted the Targaryen forces to seize Highgarden. Fought at the Battle of the Goldroad bravely, narrowly escaping death by dragonfire. Pledged himself to the forces of men and rode north to join them at Winterfell, alone. Faced the Army of the Dead, and defended the castle against impossible odds until the defeat of the Night King. Escaped imprisonment and rode south in an attempt to save the capital from destruction. Died protecting his Queen.”

Brienne had tried to get Jaime to stay with her in Winterfell, but he’d left for King’s Landing, where he died next to his sister and the love of his life, Cersei Lannister. The scene has added emotional heft because Jaime’s entry was once mocked by the villainous King Joffrey for being virtually empty. “There’s still time,” Jaime had said.

Despite the emotional aspect of the scene, the internet has come up with hilarious references to everything from Mean Girls to Sex and the City. See more reactions here.
