It still feels like a dream, says Vijay Singh, Mallika's new beau

Model Vijay Singh is thrilled to be Mallika Sherawat’s most eligible bachelor

She is one of Bollywood’s hottest heroines. And he, a simple lad from the hills. Yet, Dharamsala-born Vijay Singh managed to snatch away Mallika Sherawat from 30 strong contenders that included corporate honchos, businessmen and NRIs.

“Mallika ne mujhe kaha tha, ‘Mujhe daulat, shohrat nahin chahiye, sirf pyar chahiye’, and that’s exactly what helped me win her heart. I may not be rich, but I love her a lot,” says Singh, winner of dating reality show, The Bachelorette India — Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika.

Mallika’s preference for Singh was quite evident from the beginning of the show on Life Ok. “Yes, she did make me feel special from the very beginning. She chose me to accompany her to the Taj Mahal on the show,” says Singh, who was also the only contestant to have enjoyed a lip-lock with Mallika. “I was very embarrassed. I couldn’t believe I actually kissed her!” he says.

So does he really believe that their relationship has a future, considering love found on TV often doesn’t culminate in marriage, and Mallika has long shooting schedules in Los Angeles? The 25-year-old confidently replies, “Of course it will. We will marry. Although I am based in Mumbai for my modelling assignments, Mallika tells me, ‘Mujhe Dharamshala mein settle hona hai’. She loved the place and also relished makki ki roti and sarson ka saag made by my mom.”
