In an advisory, the Civil Aviation Ministry has urged Indian airlines and airport operators to play Indian music. The advisory cites a request from ICCR, an autonomous govt body involved in India's external cultural ties. Last week, ICCR & prominent singers requested the Civil Aviation minister to promote Indian music on flights. Several artists like Anu Malik and Malini Awasthi pitched for Indian music to be played at airports. The ICCR has praised Cabinet minister Scindia, hailing the advisory as 'great news for Indian music fraternity'.
