Hungary calls Trump’s Ukraine peace plan a ‘ray of hope’ as EU sanctions come under fire | Russia

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto hailed US President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan for Ukraine as a “ray of hope” during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow. Szijjarto voiced full support for ongoing US-Russia negotiations, expressing confidence that dialogue could lead to a settlement and ease global economic pressures caused by prolonged sanctions. He highlighted that Europe had been most impacted by these measures and said a post-conflict economic period could bring major opportunities. Lavrov stressed that protecting national minority rights remains a key condition for resolving the crisis. Talks between Washington, Moscow, and Kyiv over the plan are ongoing.
