Months after Pakistan agreed to open a corridor for pilgrims visiting the Kartarpur shrine, a delegation from Islamabad visited India to discuss the modalities of the issue. India insisted on entry of at least 5000 pilgrims a day, without visa, in the first phase. Delhi also asked Pakistan to allow larger contingents, with at least 10,000 pilgrims, on special occasions like Gurpurab and Baisakhi.
