‘No state can deny implementation of CAA’: Kapil Sibal

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Jan 18 said that no state can say that it will not implement the Citizenship Amendment Act. “All states are unhappy with the CAA, NRC and NPR and this message should be sent to the Union level. But at another level, NPR is to be implemented by the local registrar,” Kapil Sibal said on the sidelines of the Kerala Literature Festival. He further said that constitutionally, it will be difficult for any state government to say that 'I will not follow a law passed by Parliament'.
