LS poll aftershock | TMC, Left in trouble as 3 MLAs, 56 councillors join BJP

Less than a week after the Bharatiya Janata Party made inroads into the Trinamool Congress-ruled state of West Bengal in the Lok Sabha elections, multiple legislators defected to the saffron party. Two MLAs of the TMC and one from the Left joined the BJP in Delhi. Apart from the legislators, over 50 councillors from three civic bodies also switched to the BJP. During the Lok Sabha election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that 40 TMC MLAs were in touch with his party.
