Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill passed: 10 things you need to know

After the Lok Sabha, now the Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill 2019 has been passed in the Rajya Sabha. Road safety and reducing the number of accidents are key priorities of the government. Stiffer penalties will also be imposed for driving under influence of alcohol, hit and run cases and other violations on the road. The process of obtaining a licence has also been tweaked to ensure less violations. The government will now also have the power to regulate taxi aggregators like Ola and Uber.
