PM, defence minister, Army, Navy, Air Force chiefs inaugurate National War Memorial

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a memorial dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He was joined by defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the chiefs of the services.Promised in the National Democratic Alliance's 2014 election manifesto, the country's first war memorial near the India Gate complex will pay homage to over 26,000 soldiers who have sacrificed their lives since 1947.
