4 killed in encounter

Four people including a photojournalist of a local daily were killed and four others were injured in a gun battle between the Indian army and militants in Samba district near Jammu. Militants reportedly entered the house of a local politician, Hoshiyar Singh, president of the Indian National Democratic Party and opened fired on the entire family, killing Hoshiyar Singh and his wife Sheshi Balla on the spot. Their two daughters - Bindu and Darshan Devi are seriously injured.
