9-century sculptures found

The Archaeological Survey of India has once again managed a peek into the unknown past. The ASI has excavated antique sculptures dating back to the ninth-century near the famous Khajuraho temples in Madhya Pradesh. During the excavation, idols of Hindu Gods and Goddess belonging to the ancient era have been recovered. These sculptures were unearthed during the de-silting of the Nigaura pond near the temple.
