Another hooch tragedy in UP, 10 dead

Illicit country-made liquor claimed at least 10 lives in Mirzapur of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. According to local authorities, the victims belonged to the Dengurpatti, Purjagir and Kamasin villages. Around 15 persons have also been admitted to a local hospital exhibiting symptoms of exhaustion and nausea, while those in critical condition have been sent to Varanasi for treatment. Local police have raided three to four villages in the surrounding area and recovered large quantities of liquor, empty bottles and packing material.
