Assam: lamp burning for 484 years, makes record

A sacred lamp at a Vaishnavite monastery has now put Jorhat district of Assam on the map as the lamp has been continuously burning since 484 years and has been officially recognised by the Asia Book of Records. Speaking to media persons an administrative official at the temple said that the authorities are now aiming to approach the Guinness World Records for the revered lamp.
