Congress, BJP slam Mayawati over Muslim reservation

The Congress has slammed Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati for demanding reservation for Muslims. Union coal minister and Kanpur member of Parliament Sriprakash Jaiswal said it's an electoral tactic. Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also took a dig at the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party for doing politics over the issue. Mayawati had reservation for the OBCs should go beyond 27% at the central level in order to accommodate backward Muslims.
