The Congress party has gone into hyper-drive to try and clean up its image that had been soiled by allegations of corruption in which some of its most high-profile members have been involved. After accepting Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's resignation following the Adarsh Housing scam, the embattled Commonwealth Games Organising Chairman Suresh Kalmadi's resignation as Secretary of the Congress Parliamentary Party was on Tuesday accepted with immediate effect.
