Diwali gifts by prisoners

With the aim of equipping prison inmates with a source of livelihood, the authorities at the Amritsar Central Security Jail in Punjab are imparting vocational training. As a result, the prisoners have started commercial production of soft toys besides making candles that are in great demand ahead of Diwali. Most of the inmates take this as an opportunity to gain expertise in skills that would eventually help them earn a livelihood once they are out of the jail.
